Start with the napkin folded in half. Tuck the middle in between the two layers each side. Fold the two layers across so all four corners lie on each other. Fold over each corner to make the four fins.How to fold Four Fins
Ease of Folding: Folding for the four fins is more complicated than it looks. This is because tucking in the two corners neatly takes a little time
Fabric: This design can be folded in any fabric but, like so many, it is slightly easier when the fabric has some stiffness.
Precision: the folds must be made accurately because the appearance of the four fins is enhanced by precise corners and uniform spacing.
Variations: The animation shows the fins spreading from a wide spine. The spine can be made wider or narrower, even to the point when the spine vanishes.
