Multi Fold Napkin

Start with the Napkin laying flat. Fold all four corners under the napkin in turn. Fold all four corners on top of the napkin in turn. Fold all four corners under the napkin in turn. Open up each corner to surround a plate. Alternatively, open up each corner to lay flat and surround a plate.

How to fold the Multi Fold Napkin

Ease of Folding: The Multi Fold design is started with the napkin sread out flat. It is one of the more difficult designs and takes time. It is shown here without turning the napkin over. However, most people will find it easier to turn the napkin over so that all the folding is done towards the center on top – not underneath.

Fabric: This design works well with a wide range of fabrics, soft or starched. However, when using soft fabrics, it can be very hard to turn it over. Resting the napkin on a piece of cardboard can make this easier – turn the napkin between two layers of cardboard.

Precision: A truly square napkin is best and the folds should be made accurately - with all the folds the same size and all the corners meeting in the center.

Variations: The two variations shown in the animation are both pleasing, and they both invite the question: "How do you do this?"
